For a decade, our volunteers have helped transform difficult moments into hopeful new beginnings. Their compassion, skill and generosity sit at the heart of everything we do. This reflection from one of our long‑standing mediators, Judy, speaks powerfully to that impact.

“I have been a mediator for many years and also a volunteer with other community‑based services. In my retirement, it’s important to me to be active and engaged with life and to feel I am using what skills I have to give something to the community where I live. Mediation is a wonderfully rewarding activity. To walk into a room, knowing that the people there can barely even look at each other let alone speak to each other, and leave a couple of hours later with those same people chatting and going off for a coffee together (maybe after some tears along the way) is a joy and a privilege. I have worked for several mediation services but Solution Talk has been the most professional, lovely people to work with who really value and respect the input that their volunteers bring. It is a pleasure to be associated with them and I hope our relationship continues for as long as I can still make a contribution.”

Judy’s words capture the essence of what makes Solution Talk’s first ten years so meaningful — the humanity, dedication and quiet strength that volunteers bring to every case. We are deeply grateful for her contribution, and for the many volunteers who have walked alongside us over the years. Their commitment continues to shape our service and the communities we support as we look ahead to the next decade.
